Steam Linking

Learn how Steam linking supports inventory discovery, eligibility checks, custody preparation, and settlement review.

Steam linking helps CSfi verify eligible inventory and support custody or settlement workflows for CS2 skins.

Why Steam linking matters

CS2 skin options reference real inventory. CSfi needs a way to understand which supported skins a user may own and whether those items can participate in a custody-backed lifecycle.

Steam linking can help with:

  • Inventory discovery
  • Eligibility checks
  • Custody preparation
  • Settlement routing
  • Withdrawal and delivery review

  • What Steam linking does not mean

Linking Steam does not automatically deposit your skins.

A linked Steam account helps CSfi read or verify inventory status, but custody begins only when you explicitly start a deposit, transfer, or settlement workflow.

    Typical linking flow

  • Connect your CSfi account.
  • Start the Steam linking process.
  • Confirm the Steam account you want to associate.
  • CSfi checks visible inventory and supported market eligibility.
  • Eligible items may appear in inventory or custody-related workflows.

  • Inventory visibility

CSfi may need your inventory to be visible for verification. If your Steam inventory is private or restricted, CSfi may not be able to confirm item eligibility.

    Trade restrictions

Steam platform rules can affect availability. Items may be restricted by trade holds, cooldowns, account limitations, market restrictions, or other Steam policies.

    Safety reminders

  • Only link accounts through the official CSfi flow.
  • Do not send skins outside the displayed custody process.
  • Review all prompts and destination details.
  • Steam availability and policies can affect timing.

  • Beta limitations

During controlled beta, not every CS2 skin or Steam account state will be supported. Eligibility may change as markets, custody operations, and risk controls evolve.
